José Manuel has spent his whole life in Siguatepeque, and he would not have it any other way. He is glad to call it home. His path met Just One in 2025 when he and his sisters applied for a scholarship together. It was not easy at first. Conversation with new people has never come naturally to him, but he knew the challenge would be worth it in the end. That quiet determination says everything about who José Manuel is.
Today, José Manuel serves as an administrative assistant at Just One. His main goal is simply to help everyone in the program. That is not a job description. To him it's just how he moves through life. His friends would tell you that he is someone you can trust; someone you can take example from; someone who shows up.
Much of that comes from watching his parents. They've always symbolized pure strength to José Manuel. They work hard, press forward, and carry the weight of life without complaint. The first time he saw his parents cry, something shifted in him. He realized then that even strong people cry. That memory pushes José Manuel to try his best every day, no matter how tired or unmotivated he feels.
José Manuel is exactly the kind of person you want around. He is faithful, present, and genuine to the people around him.
José Manuel looking snazzy on graduation day!
