Cindy has been part of the Just One family since 2019. She was one of the very first scholars to walk through the doors. What began as a scholarship became a calling. As she moved through the Next Steps program, she found herself drawn to the younger students, stepping in to train and guide them.  During that process, she discovered her passion for helping others. This transformed into a career in nursing. She is currently studying the university level.

Currently, Cindy serves as our High School Scholarship Coordinator, and the scholars she once sat beside are now the ones she looks after. She brings a calm, steady presence to everything she does. Cindy is the kind of person you'd want in the room when there is a crisis. The younger scholars have come to depend on her, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She lives in the same community as the families Just One serves, under the same conditions, and that closeness to the mission is not lost on her. It is what drives her.

Cindy is quiet about it, but she is everywhere. There is never a party without her. She is committed to her community, to her scholars, and to her mom, whom she hopes to support one day with a nursing career she is already well on her way to building.
