more about abby
Abby has been in education for the past 9 years. Her passion for education is reflected in every step of her career. She first began as an instructional aid in kindergarten, then transitioned to become a first grade teacher. She eventually moved up to second grade, where she has been for the past 5 years. She is fully invested in her school, helping with extra curricular activities including choir, the variety show, and a leadership club for older students. Abby’s favorite part of being a teacher is building relationships with all her kids throughout their time at school.
She first went to Honduras in February of 2023. This marked a pivotal moment in her life where her passion for eduction shifted globally. Every time she is given the opportunity to return, she is in awe of the presence of God in this amazing community.
When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her dog and being outside in her garden. Abby has a large garden where she grows tomatoes, zucchini, pumpkins, raspberries, strawberries, onion, potatoes, peas, green beans, garlic, beets, carrots and jalapeños. Apparently, watching things grow and flourish is a common theme in her life.
