Scholarships

Our Middle School, High School and College Scholarship Projects financially support students pursuing education past the average dropout rate in Honduras, which is 6th grade. Just One provides financial aid, school supplies, books, transportation to school, counseling, family support, medical and dental care, and after-school programming to all students in the program.

No Hungry Home & Pila Project

No Hungry Home works to feed the rural villages in our area. Students from our Scholarship Programs take food bags to families in the community each week. These bags contain necessary food and household items that are necessary for families to survive. They include rice, beans, vegetables, fruits, toilet paper and additional hygiene items. In an effort build up the local economy, we purchase these items from local farmers and store owners.

A pila serves as the primary source of water collection for families in Honduras as plumbing and in-home running water are uncommon. In endangered communities, like Just One's, most homes go weeks without water. Pilas allow families to collect water, bathe, and wash their dishes and clothes. It is essential to families' lifestyles.

PLEAD

We believe in providing support for high impact zones, communities that have high need and high potential. Just One mainly serves the community of Aguas del Padre and its surrounding rural villages because of its vulnerable population. 50% of the population is under 18 and less than 30% are pursuing education. Most kids start working in the coffee fields at 7 years old.

Our Family Empowerment Project focuses on creating stronger family units in our community. We provide family financial planning, marital counseling, adult Bible studies, and family-serving opportunities. Additionally, Just One builds clean water supplies and provides electricity for homes in need. For single parent households, Just One provides financial support.
