SEEK
justice.
No Hungry Home is a service project run by our Scholars that works to feed homes in the villages we serve. Every month, our Scholars pack and deliver over 50 food bags to families in need. Many Scholars walk miles over the mountainous terrain to distribute these vital necessities.

In addition to feeding our communities, this project also serves our Scholars and their families. On delivery day, the Scholars have the option to take a bag home to their own families. This is extremely important as we noticed that while Just One students were receiving a high-level education as a result of the scholarship projects, they were still fighting to survive without food and clean water in their homes. No Hungry Home is helping us break the cycles of poverty that exist for the families we serve.

“With just one small change we make a big difference in our village. All the support I’ve received motivates me to work hard to be that change for my community and my family.”
Mauricio Mayorga, Just One College Scholar
From the beginning we saw the positive impacts of this project. This unique combination of service and nutrition has changed students’ abilities at school as well as their view on service. Scholars have grown to love packing bags and delivering them to others. We have found that this has given them a sense of empowerment and a desire to get involved in their communities.
